According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Hudson Meek died after falling from a moving vehicle on the evening of December 19. The accident took place around 10:45 p.m. local time. After the fall, he was rushed to UAB Hospital but passed away two days later on December 21. The Vestavia Hills Police are currently investigating the incident.

The family also announced plans to hold a "Celebration of Hudson’s Life" on December 28. They mentioned that, instead of sending flowers, people could contribute to a scholarship fund in his memory at Vestavia Hills High School, where he had been a student.
